MILPITAS, California – SEMI announced today that Tom tsuneishi, President of Tokyo electron, will receive the SEMI 2021 Sales and Marketing Excellence Award, inspired by Bob graham, for his contributions during his career. The 23rd recipient of the award, Tsuneishi will be honored for his systematic development of market strategies based on an approach that integrates system reliability, market adjacencies, globalization, technological development and extreme customer support over the past four decades. It will be recognized during the ceremonies of SEMICON Japan 2021 Hybrid, December 15-17 at Great view of Tokyo in Tokyo, and will receive the award at the Industry Strategy Symposium (ISS) 2022, January 9-12 at Half Moon Bay, California.
In Tokyo Electron, Tsuneishi led a transformation in the mindset of selling beyond Japanbased companies, first developing a strategic vision to invest in global operations in the we then replicate it in Korea, Taiwan, Europe, Singapore and China. It has benefited customers in these regions by enabling them to offer better value and lower cost of ownership. By emphasizing outstanding Japanese quality to more customers, Tsuneishi has helped adopt these standards around the world to strengthen and develop the global semiconductor industry. The SEMI Sales and Marketing Excellence Award was inspired by the late Bob graham, the distinguished leader of the semiconductor industry, who was a member of the founding team of Intel. Graham has also helped leading companies such as Materials applied and Novellus Systems during their formative years. The award was created to honor individuals for creating and / or implementing marketing programs that improve customer satisfaction and promote growth in the semiconductor equipment and materials industry.
Eligible candidates are nominated by their industry peers and selected after due diligence by the SEMI Sales and Marketing Excellence Awards Committee.
