WASHINGTON, August 4, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The following statement can be attributed to Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in response to the Biden administration’s extension of the Title 42 public health order:
“Biden administration’s announcement to expand Title 42 public health order couldn’t come at a more critical time as total apprehensions remain at historic levels and COVID-19 variants continue to proliferate.
“This extension is essential for public safety, national security and will help stem the explosion in illegal migration at the southern border which has shown no signs of slowing down for six consecutive months.
âSince its implementation in March 2020, Title 42 has been an effective tool that has mitigated the spread of COVID-19 in our country. Since the start of the fiscal year, at least 750,000 illegal aliens have been rapidly expelled from the country under this decree. Without it, these people – whose immunization and health status often remains unknown – would likely have been released inside the country and transported by plane or bus to all corners of the country.
“While the extension is a step in the right direction, it should be applied to all illegal aliens entering the country, not just certain groups of single adults. It should also be applied to family units and minors. unaccompanied, who pose health risks similar to those of single adults. The primary concern of our government should be the health and well-being of the American people who have been jeopardized by open border policies fueling a crisis. unprecedented migration.
“It is time for the Biden administration to stop playing politics, recognize that we are on the brink of epidemiological catastrophe, and take securing the southern border of the United States seriously. Immigration and border crossing of the Trump era discouraged mass migration amid the global pandemic and must be put back in place immediately. These initiatives include the re-establishment of the “Stay In” Mexico“Political, the cooperation agreements on asylum (ACA) with the countries of the Northern Triangle and the restarting of the construction of the southern border wall.”
