On September 22, Technischer überwachungs-Verein Rheinland (hereinafter referred to as “TÜV Rheinland”), an independent international testing, inspection and certification institution, issued the ASIL D functional safety management certificate ISO 26262 to Great Wall Motors (GWM) at Baoding HAVAL Technology Center. This means that GWM has passed the practical certification of Functional Safety Management System.

ISO 26262 is a global standard formulated by the International Organization for Standardization. TÜV Rheinland is a leader in the field of vehicle testing and certification. At present, more than 70% of the vehicle functional safety management system certifications in the Chinese market are issued by TÜV Rheinland. The result of this certification not only represents that GWM can establish a complete product development process system that meets the highest level of functional safety (ASIL D) in accordance with international standards, but also reflects the full recognition by TÜV Rheinland of the ‘effect of GWM in the actual operation of the project in order to prepare to enter the EU market.
